CURBSIDE MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING TRANSIT RELIABILITY
Parking, loading, transit and curbside management are critical factors in each of your districts and has been addressed in a variety of ways over time. The recent ribbon cutting for the streetscape improvements on Hearst and Bancroft and the upcoming pilot on Telegraph are exciting and can serve as case studies for other districts. We also have heard that some districts are finding it difficult to find employee parking and experience a drastic reduction in parking turnover due to a new Transbay Bus stop. The attached resource paper from NACTO presents some interesting data, offers a range of solutions and I found it timely and informative.
The graphic below highlights different curbside uses and the demands for curbside space in a vibrant commercial district.
